I don't even know how to feel right now with so many things happening in the world 🌎

The mass shooting in Las Vegas, NV on October 1, 2017 hit really close to home as I have friends & family who thankfully lived through the terrible experience 🙏💕 I am a big fan of country music and if I could, I would have attended to the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

A childhood friend had gone to the festival, but was exhausted and so decided to leave the concert early.  An chill rushed over me as I read her reports of being in the exact same spot shown in one of the popular videos circulating FB.  The feeling only got worse as she later posted that the suspected gunman was hiding somewhere in her hotel (Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino).

My heart sank as I found out another friend (my BFF's roommate) was also in Vegas.  I had seen him packing the Thursday before the event, but didn't know he was headed to Sin City for the weekend.  A country music enthusiast, he is always inviting us to country music shows and events.  Anyways, he wasn't able to obtain tickets to the show and so he and a group of friends were out on the Vegas Strip enjoying themselves when the shooting started.  Being a Marine for 6 years (Thank you for your service), he immediately knew the sounds were not that of fireworks 💥 He quickly assessed the dangerous situation and originally posted on FB that he was safe and hiding in bushes 🌿 Unfortunately, two of his friends were injured during the traumatic event 😥 Thankfully, they both survived and are currently on the road to recovery.

My BFF's niece lives in Las Vegas and is currently heartbroken over the loss of her longtime friend, who tragically lost her life during the massacre 😭 Another one of her friends was hit on the upper torso, and while she is expected to make it, her road to recovery will be difficult as her scapula was shattered 💜

My cousin was at the concert with her husband.  They left the concert around 9:40 pm, reporting that the music was still playing when they hopped into their Uber at 9:50 pm.  They hit stand still traffic as they traveled down the Vegas Strip, wondering why there were emergency vehicles rushing in the direction that they had just left.  At 11:00 pm they thought they were safe eating dinner at the Caesar's Palace food court, but shots rang out and they found themselves running 💥 In their haste to stay safe and more importantly, stay together, they left everything (phones, purse, wallet) behind on the table.  It is also worth mentioning that they both own and regularly shoot guns, so I do not question it when she reports hearing four consecutive shots approximately 500 ft from their location.  Thankfully, they made it back their their hotel after 40 minutes of walking in the craziness 🙏

With so many close friends or family experiencing the Vegas Massacre, in combination with all the videos I've seen and all the posts I've read, I do not hesitate in saying that I do not believe there was only one shooter.  Furthermore, I do not believe that we are being told the truth...

My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy ✨

Amidst all the chaos, I do the only thing I can: Choose to Live a Life of Peace & Love ❤️
